CBS has revealed a big change to its NFL programming.

The announcement comes after broadcaster Jim Nantz had a request for his co-stars on the network.

CBS’ The NFL Today was on-site at the Buffalo Bills-Kansas City Chiefs matchup on November 17

CBS’s hit NFL pregame program The NFL Today had a successful broadcast when it went on the road last month for the Kansas City Chiefs–Buffalo Bills game in Week 11.

The program included the cast jumping through tables as Bills fans were in the background at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.

They will hit the road again as CBS announced Thursday that The NFL Today will be live at the Bills’ home game against the Detroit Lions on December 15.

The matchup will be in Week 15.

Currently, the Lions have an NFC-best 11-1 record while the Bills aren’t too shabby, sitting at 9-2.

During the November 17 broadcast, play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz shared that he wanted the studio on the road more often.

“You gotta do this more often. This is the best,” Nantz said during an on-site appearance on The NFL Today.

Nantz’s wish has been granted.

The NFL Today made its debut in 1961 and was first called Pro Football Kickoff.

The show was only 15 minutes at that time, originated from various NFL stadiums, and wasn’t broadcast from CBS’ New York City studios until 1973.

The program has traveled to numerous playoff games and Super Bowls since then.

Still, it doesn’t appear that The NFL Today will be on site each week.

That is more common in college football as only ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown and Prime Video’s TNF Tonight take place on-site every week.

The NFL Today focuses on CBS’ entire regional coverage and not just one single game.

The NFL will have just three weeks of regular season football left after Week 15.

It’s not known if CBS will take The NFL Today on the road during Weeks 15 to Week 18.

The NFL Today consists of host James Brown and analysts Bill Cowher, Matt Ryan, and J.J. Watt.
